Oscars and other events in February 2007

The 79th Academy Awards took place at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, California on February 25, 2007. The most successful were films: The Departed (4), Pan's Labyrinth (3), An Inconvenient Truth (2), Dreamgirls (2) and Little Miss Sunshine (2). Oscar for the best performance by an actor in a leading role was won by Forest Whitaker (The Last King of Scotland), while the Oscar for the best performance by an actress in a leading role went to Helen Mirren (The Queen). The Oscar for best picture was won by The Departed which also won the Oscar for the achievement for directing (Martin Scorsese).
