Luciano Pavarotti died and other September 2007 events
Italian tenor and one of the most beloved vocal performers, Luciano Pavarotti died at age 71 on September 6, 2007. Pavarotti was one of The Three Tenors (next to Plácido Domingo and José Carreras) and was well known for his televised concerts and media appearances. He was also noted for his charity concerts "Pavarotti and Friends" annually hosted in his home town of Modena in Italy, joining with singers from all parts of the music industry to raise money for several UN causes.
